Once, Sarah Bingham's biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she's handed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control...In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible - when it means forfeiting the world she's always known, and the life he would do anything to protect.
I simply adored this debut novel from Dianne Duvall and how it started right out with the action and progressed at a fast, thrilling pace. Darkness Dawns is extremely addictive from start to finish; I had to read this in one sitting.
Roland and Sarah have a steamy romance that is more then just a physical thing but truly a deep connection between the two. Their relationship was heart melting and their sexual encounters burning. There is a cast of intriguing characters in the Immortal Guardians that is sure to provide much fodder for future books. Each character is complex, well developed and grows naturally with the storyline; you can tell that the author truly knows them. Dynamic world-building skills with just the right amount of explanations this novel never bores. Suspense and mystery rounds out this stupendous read from a new author you will definitely want to keep your eye on!
